Who we are

Growing Deep, Giving Life

Rooted Church is a growing community of believers learning to live deeply rooted in Jesus and empowered by His Spirit. We’re passionate about helping people grow strong in their faith, build real relationships, and share God’s love wherever they go. Together, we’re growing deep in truth and grace—so we can give life to our families, our city of Gretna, and beyond.

Knowing and following God’s Word 


The Bible is the foundation of what we believe and how we live. God’s Word helps us know  Him, grow in our faith, and understand His purposes for our lives. Everything we teach is  grounded in Scripture, and we encourage everyone to read, apply, and share the Bible in  everyday life. 


ROOTED IN THE SPIRIT

Seeking God’s presence and living by His power 


We seek to follow God’s Spirit in all we do. This means prioritizing prayer, worship, and  listening to His voice, staying sensitive to where He is at work, and joining Him in loving and  serving others. We want our lives and our church to be guided and empowered by God, not  just by plans or programs. 

ROOTED IN COMMUNITY

Growing deeper in healthy relationships. 


We were created for relationships, not to do life alone. We intentionally build spaces where  people can form deep friendships, be authentic, and support one another through every  season of life. Our desire is for all ages and generations to feel connected, valued, and able  to grow together. 

CULTIVATING TRANSFORMATION

Being shaped by God daily. 


God is continually shaping us into who He created us to be. Growth and transformation are  lifelong processes, and we are not finished yet. We value humility, accountability, and  giving God room to change us so we can become more like Him. 

BRANCHING OUTWARD

Taking God’s love to our community. 


The church doesn’t exist just within four walls. Instead of waiting for people to come to us,  we go to them—locally and globally. We share Jesus by extending love, grace, hope, and life  to our neighbors and to the world, just as God has done for us.

Every person is called and gifted by God to make a difference. Ministry isn’t just for pastors – it’s for everyone. We want to equip people to discover their gifts, serve others, and live out  God’s purposes by sharing life wherever He has placed them.

Hi! We’re Bob
& Robyn Ireland

God placed the dream to plant a church in our hearts over two decades ago. Back in 2004, we helped launch a church in West Omaha, and since then, we’ve served faithfully in nearly every ministry role imaginable. For years, we’ve felt the quiet nudge of God preparing us—and now, we believe the time is right to plant Rooted Church in Gretna, Nebraska.


We’re a bi-vocational family; Bob has worked in the dock and door industry for over 25 years, and Robyn homeschools our kids. Together, we’ve learned that ministry happens in the everyday moments of life—through relationships, community, and simply showing up for people.


The name Rooted Church came to us during prayer. Bob saw a picture of two trees still standing after a devastating flood—battered, scarred, but unshaken. That image reminded us of what we want this church to be: a place where people grow deep roots in God’s truth and with one another, so they can stand strong through every season in life.


When we’re not working or serving, we love being outdoors—walking, biking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. We can’t wait to see all that God will do as we grow deep and give life together in Gretna.
